The Toshiba mini NB 505 № 508BL is a nice little netbook that comes with a cool blue Easy Grip Finish on the lid, it may look as glam as the glossy finishes that some netbooks and laptop come with. However, when the netbook is on floor because the device slipped out of your hand, the glossy lid is not going to do much then. While with this easy grip surface, it should help the user hold onto the netbook even under extreme circumstances, such a walking with the device etc.

It does definitely sound magical when they say it is possible to bring two scenes, not visible to naked eye at the same time, into one. Scuba trips are something that most look forward to during their vacations. What makes them all the more exciting are the pictures taken while diving in the water. Well, in normal times, you can either click a picture under water or above the water. But would it not be twice the amount of fun if one could capture the scenes above and under water in the same click?

Laying waste to cities is fun, but frustrating objectives and stiff difficulty prevent Eat Them from being a monstrously good time.

Billiards, or pool, is one of those classic games that never gets old. Go to any big sports bar or lounge-type place and you’ll be sure to see at least one billiards table up for use. It’s an easy-to-learn, competitive game that looks classy and doesn’t take up too much room. But never has the game looked this classy. Designers Pierre-Marie Cronier, Marc-Antoine Aubert, Jean-Baptiste Deconinck, François Vercoutère, and Thomas Bailly completely redesigned the standardpool table with this beauty manufactured by Toulet.

When I think of arcades, I think of DanceDanceRevolution (DDR). Its intense, rhythm-based gameplay not only helped uncoordinated gamers exercise, but it also served as our window into the delightful oddities found in Japan’s gaming world. DDR has made an appearance on a number of consoles, including several appearances on the Wii. The latest version is once again Wii-bound and simply titled DanceDanceRevolution.

The fourth generation iPod Touch raised the bar for portable media players with its 1GHz processor, Retina display, front and back cameras etc. With no device that can deliver on the variety of features as it can, it now comfortably rules the roost. We’d heard of Samsung trying to create a media player based on their highly successful Android-based Galaxy S smartphone. But those dreams seemed over when we saw a cheaper Galaxy Player 50, which was basically the mid-range Galaxy 3 i5801 with its GSM radio chipped off two months ago.
And today, our bud over at the Samsung Hub has delivered the good news that the Galaxy Player is indeed on track for a show off at the CES 2011 in the first week of January 2011. The Galaxy Player (YP-GB1) will have the same 9,9mm thickness of its Galaxy S smartphone cousin. Although chubbier than the 7,2mm iPod Touch, I’m pretty sure nobody would call 9,9 millimeters chubby. It also has similar features to the Galaxy S like Android 2,2 Froyo, 1GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0.
However, the screen is a 4-inch Super Clear LCD instead of the highly vivid Super AMOLED displays as seen on a few high-end Sammy phones. Its 800 x 480 pixel resolution is a little lower than the iPod Touch’s 960 x 640 pixel, but the Galaxy Player’s bigger screen should come in handy while viewing videos. It plays HD videos out of the box, has a microSD card slot for memory expansion and a 1200 mAh removable battery.
A rear 3,2 megapixel camera will be used for taking snaps and videos, while a front-facing camera can be used for video calls. There’s also a GPS chip — another trump over the iPod Touch. But without 3G connectivity, Google Maps will pretty much be useless once you come out of range from a Wi-fi internet connection. But by using third party mapping software that pre-load entire maps on the device itself, the Galaxy Player could possibly work well as a in-car GPS navigation device replacement. Speaking of apps, there’s access to Android Market as well as Samsung Apps on this one.
There’s no mention of pricing, let’s hope they get it right with it this time (we’re referring to the horrendous Rs. 38,000 Galaxy Tab price at launch). It would otherwise have a great difficulty surviving in the market against the iPod Touch 4th gen that starts at Rs. 12,500 for the 8GB version.

RIM’s previous touchscreen phones — the Storms I and II — were big departures for a company known for QWERTY thumb pads. With both a touchscreen and keypad, the Torch tries to be the best of both worlds — and it has an upgraded operating system optimised for the touchscreen.
